Bifengxia Mountain Park and Bifengxia Panda Base Research Center

Bifengxia (in Chinese meaning as Green Peak Canyon),  is situated in 8 kilometers from Ya’an City, 150 kilometers from Chengdu, there are 3 parts in Bifengxia scenic site: Bifengxia Mountain Park, Bifengxia Wildlife Park, and Bifengxia Panda Bears Research Base Center.
Bifengxia Mountain Park and Bifengxia Wildlife Park operated and owned by Wanguan Group; and Bifengxia Panda Bears Research Base Center owned and operated by China Conservation and Research Center (Wolong) for the Giant Panda, is the branch of Wolong Panda Center. Annual average temperature 15℃, Average in July 23℃, Average in January 5℃. And raining date more than 200 days per year. Altitude from 700 to 1971meters.

Bifengxia Mountain Park and Bifengxia Wildlife Park

In Bifengxia Mountain Park, the bese scenery is the gorge or canyou, which connected the Panda Base, is very very beautiful with various shape waterfalls. If time permits, usually hiking about 3-5 hours, about 5-8 KM.
In Bifengxia Wildlife Park, many animals for you to enjoy either in coach or trekking.

Bifengxia Panda Base and Giant Panda Bears Research Center

Bifengxia Panda Base (Panda Research Center), construction began in October 2002, and finished in October 2003, planned area totals 400 hectares.
The Bifengxia Giant Panda Base is located in altitude of 1100m to 1800m, from E102º57′37.02" to E103º00′0.94", from N 30º03′25.47" to N 30º04′43.75". The base divided into 4 function area: Raising and Bredding area, Office area, Bambaoo plantation area, Training area for panda be released into the  wild (training in simulated wild environments).
After earthquake 2008, Bifengxia Panda Base is the best place to see pandas in the natural scenery they inhabit,  it has been selected as China's latest giant panda protection base, Bifengxia has a new role to play in altering the destiny of the endangered species.
From Chengdu, you can take long distance bus at Xinnanmen Bus Station to Ya'an, about 2 hours, bus departure daily about 5 departures,  then take taxi about 5-10 Euros to Bifengxia. In Bifengxia Park you can take park bus to Panda Base.
